Jodie Foster

Here is Jodie Foster in a number of dresses and we can see how short legged she is, especially in the photo from behind. When looking at the image of when she was a young teen she appears to be quite long legged, making me wonder how it is that her proportions changed.

Does it have to do with how our buttocks sag with age, making the back appear longer and legs shorter? I am not saying Jodie has a saggy butt (well its normal for her age), but I can certainly say that about myself. When I look at myself in full length in profile (from the side), it's my butt that separates the back from the legs, and my butt being flat and not perky it does bring down the length of the back. However when I flex my butt, thus brining it up, my torso is suddenly shorter. In conclusion I think it can do wonders to work on your buttocks to make them perky and raised.
I will perhaps include a photo of myself from the side as evidence.

  1. When we grow, our long limbs grow first (our legs and arms) and then our spine last. Actually in women, usually after our first period, the only part of our body that grows vertically is our spine. This is why preteens are often quite leggy and gangly looking.

  2. Jodie Foster is a classy lady. She looks fit, toned and healthy, with a runner's calves. I hope I look as good as she does when I'm her age.

I think she just naturally has a flat bum. Women with flat butts always look like they're thrusting their hips and pelvis forward even when they're not. Like in the top and second to last picture.

In contrast, a lot of women with fuller big butts look like like they're arching their back and butt out when they're actually not. At least that's my opinion.

I think both can make you look like you have shorter legs IF you actually have shorter legs. Flat butts from the back. And full butts from the side view, when you can really see where the butt falls.

To be honest though I'm not sure Jodie's that short legged. She's probably just on the shorter side of average, just like you LSL are on the leggier side of average. She also doesn't have a narrow body which can make some people look leggier and longer, and she seems slightly bowlegged.

  3. Part of the reason I think Jodie looks short legged is because she has those runner's calves.

  4. I know she isn't a celebrity, but Kayla from America's Next Top Model looks short legged to me. Show us more models with unexpected proportions please!

  5. I don't think Jody is short legged. She looks like she is in the picture from the back, but obviously pictures can be completely deceiving, and that's the only picture where she looks even remotely short legged.

  6. Uh how does it help me to see tall models again?

  7. In the pictures from the side, she almost looks short waisted.

  9. I don't remember her looking disproportionate in Silence of the Lambs. I've seen it several times.

They say that the average height of American women is 5'3. It is a lot shorter than most people think. Jodie is 5'3. It could be she's also got average proportions too.

  10. I think Jodie has awesome calves now. In that earlier picture, she probably wasn't done growing yet (in her spine) so she was a lot leggier.

  11. My dear readers you are very intelligent and knowledge. The first and second comments are especially interesting, I am have no medical training but what you wrote does sound correct, and I do notice how young girls are very leggy, and perhaps an early menstruation could be involved in creating our proportions. I for one got my period very early, a little bit before my 12th birthday.

The observation you made about women with flat butts looking like they're thrusting their hips and pelvis forward even when they're not, and how women with fuller big butts look like like they're arching their back and butt out when they're actually not, is spot on!
I am one of those flat butt women, and when I am consciously trying to look good, I arch my back to counteract the forward thing, but I cannot keep it up long, it's my anatomy and I can't really change it.

  12. LSL, high heels will force your butt to arch out but it's hard on your body, legs, feet, and back to wear high heels all the time.
