Christine Martin

Christine Martin is a English beauty queen, and former Miss Liverpool. I believe she has become a lingerie model as well. She has a toned and slim body, and the suitable long torso for posing in magazine in near undress. This is something we have noticed to be with these types of models, long legs are rare, and all the focus is on the feminine and beautiful torso. Something to be proud off.

  1. i don't understand what about these people you are saying is disproportionate... she looks like a completely normal person...her legs do not look short at all compared to her torso....

  2. I can see it! Although I think the readers of this blog are so focused on our own proportions that we can spot even slight disproportions!

Like the other models even though her legs are slightly short compared to her torso they are quite slim so it's not as obvious. Also I think having a tan helps this body type a lot because it shows off how toned she is.

I definitely see what you mean about this body type being common among bikini models. I think many of these shoots are focused so much on the bust and bottom and an elongated torso helps give an exaggerated curve.

  3. Yeah, I just came across this blog and honestly I never thought so much into this. People shouldn't be so worried about such insignificant things. This girl is gorgeous there is no need to pick apart her subtle "disproportions" as you call them. There is no correct way that a person should be proportioned, we are all different. It's kind of unhealthy to look at everyone you see and say oh well their legs aren't technically the right size for their torso according to the way I see it. You could probably name any celebrity or model and someone would say they are disproportionate somehow. Focus on getting in shape and looking your best that's what counts.
    Just some thoughts.

  4. I agree that people should focus on getting in shape and shouldn't be worried about such insignificant things but the truth is that many women need a bit of help in overcoming their insecurities and like the tagline of this blog suggests -- "A place where females with short legs and long torsos unite, gather advice and confidence, and discover others alike," this blog serves to encourage and help those with short legs look and feel their best as you mentioned is so important. I don't think there is any "picking apart" as you suggest as it's no different than a fashion blog "picking apart" a celebrity's fashion choices, and numerous other blogs that truly "pick apart." I think it's rather presumptuous to assume that everyone here is unhealthy and looking at everyone and saying "their legs aren't technically the right size for their torso according to the way I see it." I personally view it as an observation more akin to "Hey, that girl has really long hair....hey, that girl has a beautiful long torso." Just my thoughts.

  5. Personally, I don't see the disproportion in this girl. I don't think she qualifies as a Lady Short Legs, even with a long torso. Her leg/torso ratio is about even.

The point is that the media constantly tells us what the perfect body is supposed to be, and that is supposed to be tall with long legs. By finding celebrities and models who are held up as having the ideal figure, yet actually don't quite adhere to these strict requirements, helps us 'mere mortals' feel a bit better about ourselves. This especially applies to models and beauty queens who are almost always tall, and so assumed to have long legs, yet don't always, proportionally speaking, when you take a closer look. They usually have legs that are long in themselves, but not always in relation to their overall height. Pointing out that some one like Kylie Minogue actually has longer legs relative to her height than, say, Alessandra Ambrosio, makes a lot of women feel better about themselves!

  7. And sorry, I should add, that showing that women of any height, with short legs relative to their torso, can look good also helps. That did sound a bit like you have to have proportionally long legs, whatever your height, to look good, which obviously is not the case!

  9. This chick actually has perfect proportions. Her legs are not short, but also not too long, so she does not look like a spider or some other insect.:)

  10. Absolutely, fully agree with comment number 6! People always assume I have long legs, and at 5,7 I obviously don't have short legs, but they are not long in proportion to my long torso. I have learned I need to break up my torso with a different colour on top and below, wear high waisted skirts, bikini bottoms with a mid-rise otherwise they fall off my hips, avoid long tops as in pic 1 which make your torso look neverending. Finally wear heels, and I feel way more confident!
Thanks to LSL for her blog:-))
